FAQS
General Services & Philosophy
What does a doula do, and how is it different from a midwife?
1
While a midwife provides clinical medical care, a doula focuses on the emotional, physical, and educational aspects of your journey. I provide continuous support to ensure you feel empowered, informed, and physically comfortable before, during, and after birth.
Do you support hospital births, home births, or C-sections?
2
Absolutely. My goal is to help you create a beautiful, calm, and deeply personal experience regardless of the setting. I offer specialized preparation for both planned and unexpected C-sections, focusing on gentle surgical techniques and a robust recovery.
What is your "integrative support" approach?
3
With a decade of specialized study in bodywork, I combine holistic modalities with professional standards. This means your care isn't just about information; it’s about balancing the body and mind through sessions like "Birth Art" and clinical aromatherapy.
To ensure a high standard of care and respect for "Quiet Enjoyment" boundaries, I ask that all non-emergency administrative matters (billing, contracts, or scheduling) be handled via email. This keeps our records organized and ensures I can respond thoughtfully to your needs.
Flexibility is at the heart of my practice. We spend our prenatal sessions preparing for the "unexpected" so you feel grounded no matter how the day unfolds. Whether we pivot to a C-section or adjust your recovery plan, my support remains continuous and dedicated to your well-being.

Packages & Scheduling
When should we begin our prenatal appointments?
1
I like to start our prenatal sessions around the 23–24 week mark. Starting at this stage allows us ample time to actively practice the physical and emotional tools we'll use during labor. It also gives us the space to create a truly tangible, actionable plan for your postpartum recovery so you feel fully prepared for the "fourth trimester."
Do you offer standalone bodywork sessions?
2
Absolutely. My goal is to help you create a beautiful, calm, and deeply personal experience regardless of the setting. I offer specialized preparation for both planned and unexpected C-sections, focusing on gentle surgical techniques and a robust recovery. View my bodywork packages
To ensure you receive the most effective support during your peak recovery window, all postpartum sessions and additional support services must be utilized within the first 2.5 months of your baby's life.

Policies, Billing & Insurance
Can I use insurance for your services?
1
I am happy to provide you with a professional, itemized invoice that you can submit to your insurance provider. While I’ll provide the documentation you need, please note that clients are responsible for the billing process and for confirming that all reimbursement requirements are met. Because every plan is different, I cannot guarantee reimbursement, so I always recommend checking with your provider beforehand!
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
2
Due to the personalized nature of my services and limited availability, 24 hours notice is required for rescheduling bodywork, lactation, or yoga sessions. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a $75 fee (unless in case of emergency). Birth services retainers are non-refundable.
Do you provide medical advice?
3
As a doula, I provide emotional, educational, and physical support. I do not perform clinical exams, diagnose medical conditions, or replace your medical provider. I collaborate respectfully with your chosen care team to ensure you feel informed and supported.
GENERAL INFORMATION AROUND DOULAS
How much does a birth doula cost in
Los Angeles?
1
Birth doula investment varies depending on the level of support you choose. My packages range from $6,500 to $12,000 and include prenatal preparation, continuous labor support, and postpartum integration. During our consultation, we’ll explore which level of care best aligns with your needs and vision for birth.
When should I hire a birth doula?
2
Most families secure their birth doula between 20–28 weeks of pregnancy to ensure availability and allow time for comprehensive preparation. Booking earlier gives us space to build trust, practice tools for labor, and create a thoughtful postpartum recovery plan.
What does a postpartum doula do
during a shift?
3
Postpartum support is tailored to your family’s needs. A typical shift may include newborn care guidance, breastfeeding support, emotional processing, light nourishment preparation, structured recovery support, and helping establish sustainable rhythms in your home. My role is to help you rest, recover, and feel confident in the early weeks after birth.
Is postpartum bodywork safe after a cesarean birth?
4
Yes. With provider clearance, bodywork and scar remediation can significantly improve comfort, mobility, and long-term healing. Sessions are always paced to your recovery timeline.
